How do I raise money when climbing a mountain? How do I get sponsored?
I want to raise money, a lot of money, for when I take a gap year. I was talking through options with my parents and a great way would be to do something that people would sponsor me for, such as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. I don’t want to rely on family and friends to sponsor me as I would make a couple of hundred at the most, actually doing the thing would cost more and I’d make a loss. How do I go about being sponsored by a company? How many companies can sponsor me? Is there a company which will help me raise the money?
Any advice/ideas are greatly appreciated.

Im driving to Mongolia in July, I found that raising money for charity was best done by heading to big events with a bucket and just asking people! Friends, family and friends of friends usually help with charity too. If you want to raise money for yourself you’re best to hold an event – i’m planning on holding and Ceilidh dance, selling tickets and having a raffle … but make sure you make it clear the money is for you and don’t pretend like it’s for charity!
