English Exam Help Please?
My exams start on monday and i’ve been revising and preparing; we’ve been told that we’re doing a film review in the exam so i’ve tried to do one and memorize it; i’m only year8 but i’ve got the highest target level in the year (level 7a/8c) which is like well shocking because most people are level 6’s and i’m like level 5 in maths? 8-) and i’m only good at English so i’ve gotta get this level (yn). Anyway is this okay? I chose the film Taken to review because i know it quite well and i enjoyed it.

anyway:
Taken, despite it’s retread James Bond/Jason Bourne action sequences, with car chases, drug dealing and fight scenes, works on the strength of it’s lead, Liam Neeson. With an attention-capturing tagline that reads "I don’t know who you are, but if you don’t let my daughter go, I will find you; I will kill you", how are you not intrigued to find the conclusion of this action-packed film? The beginning may seem, and sound, a little ridiculous, however, the film is entertaining to say the least. You can’t go wrong in watching this exciting thriller.

When Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) retires from the government business to spend more time with his beloved daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) he is not too pleased when Kim has the oppurtunity to go to Paris with her friend Amanda. Reluctantly, Bryan agrees, as long as she calls him when she arrives and every night before she goes to sleep. While on the phone to Bryan one day, Kim sees Amanda being attacked by strangers on the other side of the apartment, and it is a matter of minutes before Kim is kidnapped by an Albanian sex trafficking ring. Using his fascinating skills and abilities, Bryan has to find her before she is lost forever.

Produced and co-written by ‘The Professional’ and ‘La Femme Nikita’ director Luc Besson, the story is cliched and predictable, but Neeson is the attraction. For an action film, it has all the elements you could possibly imagine: violence, fighting and a happy ending and with a running time of 90 minutes, the pace is quick and steady. It’s the same man-saves-the-day stuff we’ve seen in the past, only with an interesting twist, so sit back and enjoy the movie.

?xx

It sounds pretty good. The only thing is that in the last paragraph when you write "it has all the elements you could possible imaging: violence, fighting, and a happy ending and with a running time of 90 minutes" I think you had a run-on sentance by tacking on "and with a running time of 90 minutes, the pace is quick and steady". The two ands in the sentance don’t sound right and i would split it into two sentances. Also, in the first paragraph when you say "how are you not intrigued" i would switch are with the word can, and add "be" after "not". Other than that, look great! :)

Serious question: Are video games art?
I consider great, classic movies like Forrest Gump, Star Wars, The Wizard Of Oz, The Sound Of Music, Saving Private Ryan The Dark Knight, The Matrix Back to the Future, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, etc. to be art.
I also consider groundbreaking, classic video games like Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, Half-life, Half-life 2, Grand Theft Auto 3, Call Of Duty, etc. to be art at the same level as great movies.
Why do many people consider movies art, and not video games? What’s the difference?

I consider myself different from many video gamers, because when I am playing a video game for the first time, I don’t do things in the game that I don’t believe my character would do. For example, I refused to smash scientists in the face with a crowbar in Half-life or shoot my fellow soldiers in the Call of Duty series, while having no second thoughts about throwing a few grenades into a crowded street in Grand theft Auto: Vice City.
I realize that not all gamers do this, and I can understand not calling shooting human soldiers in the back in Halo: Combat Evolved art, but when a video game is created to allow a player to experience the story, in the same way that a movie does, I don’t know how someone can dismiss it as teenagers wasting time.

What are your thoughts?

yes! especially games like Kingdom Hearts. Its story and everything in it is pretty much amazing. And how else do you get the characters if you don’t draw them before virtualizing them?

To test or not to test?!?! 4 day before scheduled missed period!?
So background info!

My cycles are usually between 28-32 days and the past two months have been 32 day cycles. My last period was on January 12th which is a 32 day cycle from my last period December 12.. So assuming this cycle is also 32 days (which I’m thinking it is) I had unprotected sex January 18.19,22,28, Feb 1 and 3. Cycle days: 7,8,11,17,21,and 23. According to Web md and my days calendar my most fertile days were between the 27-30. SO! today is Feb 8, 4 days before my schedule period on the 12th. Today is also cycle day 28 of 32. I’ve been feeling extremely fatigued, i mean sleeping for 12 hours and still finding it extremely hard to get out of bed, i would sleep all day if i didn’t have a little one! I’ve had nausea and cramping off and on between the 1-3 the most. I’ve had (tmi warning) a lot of gas way more than usual for no apparent reason. I’ve also had diarrhea since the 1st. I’ve been very IRRITABLE and moody and my breasts have been sore but just very very slightly. I’ve also had this tightening sensation in my uterus area on and off. I’m not too sure what to think, and i was going to just wait to see if my period showed up then test!! But i’m WAY WAY to impatient hoping for my BFP.

So its 4 days before my scheduled missed period and i plan on testing with dollar tree pregnancy test (which i heard are very sensitive to the hcg hormone) and ept or equate brand which i also heard were sensitive. So should i test or just hold it off. If i am pregnant i’m hoping to get faint positives today but then again i don’t know! OPINIONS PLEASE!!! Has anyone else who was TTC expereinced the same thing and tested early and got a BFP 4 days before??? THANK YOU

Baby dust to everyone else TTC!!! :)
i almost forgot! Since i won’t be testing with my morning urine (if i do test) what is the best way to keep it the most concentrated and not diluted!! THANKS :)

i recommend wait until after your missed period, the disappointment of a negative test is worse than the anticipation.

Why wont the people of Britain wake up and take action against our mainstream parties?
They have us in a strangle hold, we literally have been given no choice other than to nationalise ourselves. We will be beaten down as an ethnic group and only the upper crust of our society will survive to rule over an immense slave population. National pride and community ethics will save us from globalist money men with blood stained hands. Lets save our countrysides and customs.
Everyone must vote BNP and make the labour/tory lying dogs take notice. Im no big fan of Griffin but we MUST decide before its too late. Nationalism encourages brotherhood, our system encourages seperation.

Vote BNP? No thanks. The links below go into why.

If you want to take a stand and not vote for racists, vote UKIP instead.

The Patriot | Feb 01, 2010

I’d rather not vote BNP thanks, although the fact that the BNP keeps doing so well may wake up the other parties in realizing the serious social damage mass immigration and mass multiculturalism has done to us.

Ring around the rosie folktales.?
Can anyone give me a website that i can find additional information about other origination’s for the folktale ring around the rosie…………? Besides the Black Plague. (for a school assignment)
sorry, i know its a nursrey rhyme, im only in 7th grade…lol

It’s a nursery rhyme, not a folktale.
Try doing a search for the book "The Annotated Mother Goose".
But all I’ve ever heard was that it was about the Black Plague, so I don’t know if you’ll find much else.

IMDB rating: 6.40

Plot: A young woman helping care for an invalid in New Orleans finds herself caught in the middle of morbid going-ons centered around a group of Hoodoo (Not Voodoo, it’s different. Hoodoo is an old African American magic that only works if you believe in it.) practitioners.

Directors: Softley Iain

Forgot book title help?
Okay, in fifth grade (I’m in eighth now) I remember reading a beyond good book. Today I decided I wanted to read it again, and I kept thinking that the title of the book was Skeleton Key, but when I Googled it, the series that showed up didn’t seem like it was the book that I read. Maybe it was, but just incase I’m asking yall in you know.

So the book was about a boy, and I know one of the books has to do with a key. I only remember some vivid but probably useless parts in the book. Like he was in a tunnel, I keep thinking he was with a girl but I’m starting to think he wasn’t. I know it was a series. This pretty much doesn’t help anyone, but I’ll try my best to jog my memory.
A key, as in a real key. Like the book title had the word "key" in it. Well I think, gosh I’m bad at these question things lol.
I just read the first chapter of the first Alex Rider book series and by reading that first chapter I could tel that the series isn’t the one I’m talking about.
