Adoption fees are not expensive

Also keep in mind that there are services set up for transporting dogs and puppies that are up for adoption to people that are in different states for a reasonable fee.

Don’t buy from pet stores. They are supplied by puppy mills. You will NOT get a quality dog from a pet store. Go here http://www.amrottclub.org/
and look for a REPUTABLE breeder.

NEVER buy from a pet store. they get their animals from puppy mills. You’ll not only spend tons of money on a dog thats had a terrible life already but you”ll have to deal with many health problems and most liekly kennel cough

In NYC it shouldn’t be too hard to find a good one at the pound, just check around and be patient. I bet next to pits they one of the most common dogs in a NYshelter. Do your homework on the breed first so you know what to look for and then you can choose a ‘good’ dog.
